Lacuna is softer than Caravels’ previous work. There isn’t a bonafide mosh part or breakdown, no double bass pedals. Just classic, heavy riffs, an intensely intricate drummer, and vocals yelling out introspective, heavyhearted prose. This album straddles the fence between commotion and elegance; it will calm you one second and enrage you the next.
